With a various background of musical influences and artistic inspirations, SVNTH (short spelling of “Seventh Genocide”) from Rome, Italy has been shaping a unique equilibrium of sounds through the years moving and experimenting always across different directions.
Formed in 2006 the band ended its demo phase with the debut album “Breeze of Memories” (2015) strongly influenced by the early 2010s blackgaze hybrid in its more vivid and nostalgic form.
Following the intention of building up and enriching their formula with no limits, SVNTH explored a few new other soundscape on the following “Toward Akina” (2017), offering a blend of mystical black metal sections played with a 70’s flavor, post-rock textures, Pink Floyd inspired psychedelia and acoustic overtures. Alongside music also the lyrical side takes a more distinctive trademark with topics such as astral travels and existence after death, melancholy, introspection and delusion regarding love and life’s expectations. All this new characteristics of the band’s sound can be also found on the monumental “Sleepless”, the only inedited piece from the old songs re-arrangements EP “SVNTH” (2018); “Sleepless” is a song about a moment of mutual opening up exchanging deep thoughts and emotions and yearning of stopping time and living in it forever, it shows the band’s most metal side alternated with psychedelic passages and GY!BE-like instrumental experimentation.
The third upcoming album is called “Spring in Blue”, it has been realized at Colin Marston’s studio Menegroth: The Thousand Caves in New York, USA where a huge number of fundamental records for the band have been recorded. With this new work the quartet takes to another level its musical horizons, mixing in an organic way atmospheric black metal explosions (with a strong “american sounding” touch) and always more solid rock roots (from 70’s class rock to 90’s shoegaze and sadcore). “Spring in Blue” is an open window to inner emotions, narrating about facing someone’s loss during childhood and being forced by life to deal with situations bigger than us, without forgetting a cosmic and illusory analysis of human existence.
As of today SVNTH have already played in several European countries and USA performing cathartic, thrilling and ecstatic live shows.
